The Victorian State Government announced on 3 May 2011, $8 million to go towards the sealing of the Omeo Highway as part of their 2011/12 budget. The budget announcement follows the pledge made by local member, Bill Tilley MP, in November 2010 of the Coalition's commitment to fully seal Victoria's first gazetted highway
